The County Treasurer receives all monies due the County and pays all bills (in conjunction with the County Clerk), is ordered by the County Court.  The Treasurer must keep a true and accurate of all monies received and disbursed, and report this to the Quorum Court at each regular monthly meeting, and more often if requested by the Quorum Court.

The Treasurer must attend each Quorum Court meeting to explain the reports submitted.  This official receives and receipts money from each County office by settlement or directly from entities who money to the County.  The Treasurer must ensure the safekeeping of all county money by collateralization, and is required to keep money in a way earning maximum interest is received by the County.
